About - Washington DC Portrait Photographer Mark Sapp

(Oh Hi) I’m Mark.

I am a photographer living in our nation’s capitol but I hail from sunny central Florida!

My work has been featured on the Phoblographer and in Stencil Magazine. In the past I've worked as a PhotoPass photographer at Disney World, been the lead photographer at a muscle car rental company, and ran my own mobile photography studio with some friends. In my photographic journey I've shot weddings, engagements, events, portraits, headshots, photobooths, etc. Along the way I taught myself how to use the gear, how to edit, how to use on and off camera flash, and posing (when needed!).

In terms of current gear I’m running both Sony and Fujifilm camera systems. I do all my editing in Lightroom and Photoshop, both of which I’ve earned certifications for in the past. And I absolutely shoot everything RAW…except for when I’m shooting film! I got a little addicted to point and shoots this year. Speaking of which, my lab of choice is Nice Film Club out of Brooklyn New York!

For video work I use both the X-H2S and my Osmo Pocket 3 along with Davinci Resolve and Handbrake for compressing 4K projects.

In my spare time I enjoy playing guitar, iced coffee, film, and playing games on my Steam Deck!
